A perfect fit

One year ago back in January 2008, Bürkert, one of the world's market leaders for fluid control systems and BBS Systems, one of the most important international manufacturers of piping components and valves founded a new alliance. Since then Bürkert and BBS have worked on different kinds of projects from bespoke complex piping and process solutions and localized turnkey projects. By combining exceptional and unique products and systems with everyday standard components the alliance has established itself as a leading partner of fluid control systems from a concentrated and dedicated source with an ever expanding network.

 "The market response to the alliance has been very positive with many opportunities being recognized by BBS and Bürkerts customers. As we move into the second year of official alliance status we will be turning these opportunities into competitive advantage and benefit for our customers, making sure that their return is a rewarding one," says Mike Rodd, Segment Manager - Hygienic Processing (HP) at Bürkert Fluid Control Systems and Director of BBS Systems.

Bürkert and BBS teamed up to improve the analysis of the market and customer needs, with the aim of improving client profitability. The combination of the partners means a scope of supply that ordinarily would require a multitude of companies. Together both partners can provide even better process efficiency and higher yields by offering unlimited process modularity. "In today's world where optimized processes and systems are stretched to the limit and cost efficiency is critical the alliance can enhance plant performance as well as support streamlining of all the business processes from engineering and quality through to purchasing and any others," says Mike Rodd.

From the control room to the downstream processing area through to the plants utilities services the scope of systems and components from Bürkert and BBS cover all the different application environments in hygienic processing - effective and efficient in each application whilst working harmoniously together to provide a reliable total plant solution.

Where Bürkert takes care for linking all parts of the production process via electrical signals, BBS links them all mechanically. Sterile weld unions or quick connects, flanges, fittings, hoses and pipes are the world of the Swiss manufacturer. And where Bürkert stands for process design, flow and instrumentation, BBS completes the offer with a massive amount of special valves, sampling systems, flow indicators and heat exchangers - just to number a few of the wide range of components.

With more than 40 locations worldwide, the alliance is now even closer to its customers everywhere in the world, with even more manufacturing capacity to serve increasing demand and to share techniques and best practice ideas.
